Restart a Failed Daemon Process
Oracle Tips by Burleson Consulting
August 9, 2011
Sometimes, a daemon process (a constantly running process, like an
Oracle listener) may fail, and when a daemon process fails, a job is
required to keep it running.
I write code that runs on a cron every 5 minutes to see if the daemon
is running, and if not, start it. See here:

# Check if daemon called checkmymail is running . . . .
