Question: What does the /etc/named.conf file do in a RAC system?

Answer: One of the options sections of etc/named/conf tells the DNS
names server that any unresolved IP request should use one of the DNA
entries listed in /etc/resolv/conf:

options (forwarders { 192.192.1.1; });
